ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work for You
I started serving the citizens of Oglethorpe County in 1996 as a "Junior Firefighter". I later became an EMT-Intermediate and began working full time for EMS and still hold an Advanced EMT license.
In 2005 I started working for Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Office where I have had the opportunity to serve in various roles over the years. My last few years were spent as a Captain and as the 911 Director.
The many years of service along with the first hand experience gained working in and behind the scenes of a sheriff's office has provided valuable knowledge. A sheriff's office is complex and there are many duties that falls under it. When elected, this knowledge and experience will be put to work and we will ensure that all duties are carried out in a professional and courteous manner.

My vision as your Sheriff.
My vision as your Sheriff is to bring the Sheriff's Office in line with the highest standards of excellence in every way we serve you, our citizens and visitors.
A major emphasis on my administration is to serve you with complete fiscal responsibility and to make the Sheriff's Office more friendly to the citizens we serve.
Interacting with your Sheriff's Office should be easy, friendly and professional and at times should be available as close as your laptop or smart phone.
It is important to remember that our operations funding comes from you the taxpayer. The role of your Sheriff is to serve you and that role should not and will not be reversed.
It has been my public safety experience that many times our best ideas come from our employees and citizens alike. Simply stated, I want to hear from you! I want to know what we can do collectively to make Oglethorpe County Georgia a safe and happy place to live, work, and raise your children.
My vision includes safeguarding our children everywhere, especially at our schools...I'm letting it be clearly stated if any person holds ill will and plans to interrupt, invade, or otherwise harm any of our precious children and staff understand this: You will have to go through me and my deputies first.
Further, A systematic and complete overhaul/audit of the current jail operating procedures will be done. We will address all safety and security issues and concerns and will start working toward reopening the jail to full operations. Millions of your tax dollars were spent to build the current jail and now it has fallen by the wayside.
My vision includes a complete security analysis of the most dangerous location in our county: Our courthouse. I have every intention, within my budget, to personally review and upgrade our security checkpoints with systems technology that has been proven to be effective in other Georgia courthouses. Courthouse deputies will be trained and assigned to prevent the tragedies that have occurred in other Georgia courthouses.
